The Lünendonk® Ranking 2023 “Leading Internal IT Service Providers in Germany”

Internal IT service providers form an essential piece of the digitisation puzzle within companies. Growing digitisation budgets and revenues among the so-called captive IT service providers reflect this. For the third time now, Lünendonk has published a ranking of the leading internal IT service providers by revenue. The mix of captive and outsourced arrangements – what proportion of IT resources is provided by internal staff or external service providers – varies greatly.
Taken together, these ten service providers generate revenues of approximately 13 billion euros, employing over 55,000 people. For 2023, the internal IT service providers surveyed expect revenue growth of around 11 per cent.

he Lünendonk® List forms the basis for the Lünendonk® Survey, which was published at the end of July 2023 and which is available for free download.
For the survey, more than 100 IT services providers operating in Germany were comprehensively surveyed in the period from January to April 2023, as well as around 120 decision-makers from medium-sized and large user companies.
Since some data from internal IT service providers of DAX 40 companies and other corporations is missing and cannot be validly estimated, the ranking does not claim to be complete and is therefore taken as a market sample.

Admission criteria for the Lünendonk® List:
Companies that generate more than 90 percent of their revenues with IT services such as the operation of applications, infrastructure and the cloud, IT consulting, software development and systems integration, and IT provider management within an organization and are a legally independent company can be included in the market sample. Legal entities under public law such as institutions under public law were not included.

The Lünendonk® Survey 2023 “The Market for IT Services in Germany” will include information based on 100 IT services providers operating in Germany as well as around 120 medium-sized and large user companies. Results are included as a graphic evaluation, commented on and classified on the basis of long-term market observation.
The Survey was published in July 2023 in German language and is available for free download.
