The top twenty-five security services providers in Germany enjoyed growth of 10.5 percent in 2022. This is an increase of 4.2 percentage points compared with the previous year (2021: +6.3%). Employee numbers were up by an average of 3.5 percent in 2022 compared with 2021. The security services providers sector thus continued its upward trend following the coronavirus pandemic—even without accounting for price effects. Over the coming years, the twenty-five leading businesses forecast progress of 5.7 to 7.6 percent per year.
In second place with 479.0 million euros in security revenues is Essen’s Kötter, generating 21 million euros more than third-placed Kieler Wach- und Sicherheitsgesellschaft (€458.0 million). Sister companies of the latter include Sicherheit Nord. Across our listing, only the three top security services providers have in excess of 10,000 staff.

More than 50 percent of revenues generated from security services, including security services on a pro rata or exclusive basis. More than two thirds of these revenues must be generated on the external market. Companies offering a single specialized service (e.g., cash and valuables logistics) are not included.
