The revenue of the 15 leading providers of engineering services in Germany declined by an average of 14.0 per cent in 2020, almost exactly the same as the overall change in revenues of all 24 service providers surveyed (-13.7 %). This is due to the deep historical integration of the sector into the automotive industry and aerospace sector value chains, both of which have cut back production and reduced R&D budgets in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Over the coming years, the engineering service providers expect sales to rise again. Lünendonk® List admission criteria:
Over 50 per cent of turnover or at least 250 million euros generated from engineering services. Engineering services are defined as: R&D consulting, product innovation consulting, design & concept, prototype development, embedded software development and implementation, testing & validation, simulation and modelling and all other product-IT related IT services.
